Miguel Roman Heads To National Team Try Outs, August 2009 |

Miguel Roman (World Champion Taekwondo Woodbridge ), of Westville, Connecticut, will compete in the upcoming Junior and Under 24 Team Trials for the US National Team, which are to be held August 21st-23rd in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Olympic Training Center. Miguel, who is a long time Taekwondo competitor in spite of his young age, won the gold medal at the 2006 National Championships (pictured with his teacher, Master Kim, above).

Connecticut TKD MAC Announces Connecticut State Championship |

It is with great honor and excitement that I take this opportunity to personally invite you to participate in the 2008 Connecticut State Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts Commission (MAC) Championship which will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2008. The Tournament will be held in the WILLIAM H. PITT CENTER at Sacred Heart University, Connecticut. I look forward to your company and a great day of exciting competition.
Our goal for the 2008 Connecticut State Tae Kwon Do MAC Championship is to uphold the highest level of Tae Kwon Do expertise. Therefore, LaJUST Electronic Sparring Gear, the only system recognized by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), will be demonstrated and used in the event. Competitors who participate in this event will also have an opportunity to qualify to go to Junior Olympics and National Championships.

Connecticut Junior Competitiors Qualify for 2008 Junior Olympics |

The team, led by Master Young Kik Cho of World Champion Tae Kwon Do's West Haven school, and competitors AJ Coppotelli (Monroe), Alek Forslund (WH), Connor Kusmit (Cheshire), Mickala Allen (Monroe), and Louis Votre (Derby) vied to secure a spot in the upcoming Jr Olympics Games in Detroit, MI in July. Over 500 competitors from 15 states took part in the 2 day sparring event. Three members of the team, Michala Allen (Gold Medal), Louis Votre (Silver Medal) & AJ Coppotelli (Bronze Medal) qualified for the World Class Division and Alek Forslund & Connor Kusmit Qualified for Elite Division sparring events.
